IV THERAPY FOR LPNs Approved by NH Board of Nursing for LPNs
This 40 hour certificate course is designed to provide LPNs with an understanding of the
essentials in the practice of intravenous nursing care and to prepare the practicing Licensed
Practical Nurse to initiate and maintain intravenous therapy in a health care setting in
accordance with the rules and regulations of the State NH Cost: $360.00
CLIA Waived Laboratory Testing
This 30 hour clinical course is designed to familiarize students with the laboratory skills
required for point of care testing in hospital and physician office laboratory settings. It covers
the qualitative and quantitative examination of body fluids and the use of laboratory
equipment. Emphasis is placed on routine physician’s office lab and general lab
procedures. Cost covers lab fee and supplies Cost: $360.00
CARING FOR PEOPLE WITH ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE AND RELATED DEMENTIAS
This 5 hour workshop provides a broad overview of Alzheimer’s disease and related
dementias. The issues involved in caring for people through the various disease stages,
including terminal care are explored. Treatment options and suggested strategies for
approaching related safety issues, daily care and management, sleep habits and related
behavior difficulties will be discussed. This course is intended for anyone who is working
directly or indirectly with people who have dementia. Cost: 85.00 (includes materials)
INFECTION CONTROL
Meets OSHA Standards, for Health Care Workers and other High Risk Jobs.
This 5 hour workshop meets the The 1991 OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard which
mandates annual training for all employees with occupational exposure to blood or other
potentially infectious materials (OPIM) (Sec. 1910.1030). The new system for infection
control developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is included and
focuses on Standard and Transmission-Based Precautions.
Cost: $85.00 (includes materials)
Health Career Learning Support
This 20 hour program is for students who require continued assistance with English and/or
course content during his/her selected career track. This program is scheduled in continuity
with existing courses one day a week for 3 hours. Preparation for exams is
included. Cost: $240.00
