HCTA Academic Placement Policy
Prior to the completion of an Enrollment Agreement, every student admitted to NESPN or NESAH

mandatory assessment tool, the ACCUPLACER, will be used to identify the appropriate level
coursework for math and English and for courses impacted by one of these competencies.
Students will not be denied admission based on test scores. However, students may be
required to successfully complete a developmental skills course prior to beginning course work
in the program of study to which they have been admitted.
HCTA's placement policy may be waived, in full or in part, if the following conditions are met:
- Completed an ACCUPLACER test within the past three years at another accredited
institution of higher learning and
- Can demonstrate successful achievement of coursework relative to placement test
results through official transcripts.
Online placement tests (ACCUPLACER) are administered by the Admissions office and taken by
appointment which will be scheduled when you enroll.
