General Requirements & Enrollment Information
The Admission process must be completed prior to entering a class.
The Admission process includes Completing Application and Paying Application Fee, HOBET,
Interview and signing the Enrollment Agreement.
Financial aid applications must be processed or payment arrangements made prior to entering
a class.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR ADMISSION...
High School Diploma or GED.
Completed Application with $150.00 non-refundable application fee.
HOBET: Assessment of basic learning skills
Official transcripts from Associate or Bachelors Degree are required to waive the HOBET
A Criminal Records Check when admitted.
3 passport photos for ID badge and file.
HOBET
The Health Occupation Basic Entrance Test is an assessment tool that is used to measure
critical reading ability, basic math, and written expression. Knowing that you have mastered
these skills will contribute to your success in classes at HCTA.
Applicants entering the Nursing program who achieve a score of 50 or above in BOTH sections
may waive the NET. If the score is under 50 in EITHER section, College Reading or Algebra will
be required and the NET must then be taken before entering nursing courses.

Prerequisites
The following prerequisite courses may be required depending on academic history or HOBET
results. They may be taken in conjunction with core courses.

General Education courses for Phlebotomy Program
- CPR/Professional Rescuer
- Intro to Computers
- Medical Terminology
